Kris Kringle Gift Guide 2026: How It Works, How Much to Spend and Gifts Under $20 and $30

Kris Kringle, also known as Secret Santa, is a fun Christmas tradition where everyone draws a name and buys a gift within an agreed budget. Whether you're organising Kris Kringle at work, with friends or family, the spending limit is usually around $20 or $30.

Finding a great Kris Kringle gift doesn't have to be difficult or expensive! We think the best gifts are ones they'll actually use, with a personal touch that makes them extra special.

From personalised shot glasses starting at just $8.99 to engraved Christmas tree decorations for $15.99, we've got plenty of thoughtful and affordable gift ideas.

To make your Christmas shopping easier, we've rounded up our favourite personalised Kris Kringle gifts under $20 and under $30, along with a few handy tips to help you organise the perfect gift exchange!

How Kris Kringle works

  • Agree the cap and the date of the swap.
  • Everyone draws one name in secret, from a hat or an online draw.
  • Buy one gift for the person you drew, up to the cap.
  • Swap on the day. Some groups reveal who bought what; some keep it secret.

Getting it right

  • Spend the cap, not more. Going over makes everyone else's gift look small.
  • Pick something useful. A name on a glass or water bottle beats a joke that falls flat.
  • Check the spelling of the name before you order.
