Wedding Invitation Guide - Tips and Trends 2014

You are newly engaged! (Congratulations by the way!) But now what?

You have so many things to start thinking about, not to mention the money you have to spend in the coming months and years. We're here to help!

Our designers at Personalised Favours are not only passionate about creating something unique for each customer, but sharing their insights and secrets for choosing the perfect wedding invitation.

We had a chat to Emma, our graphic designer, about some tips & trends to create the perfect invitation that guests will remember for years to come.
Emma believes it is important to start thinking about a theme for your wedding or even a colour scheme early on. "Think of a theme you like, for example a cocktail style Soiree. Do some research into this style. Blacks and creams spring to mind, so use those colours and plan an elegant/ bold style for your invites."

She also explains, "I love everything matched!" We have many customers knowing what they are after but not sure on the style. I usually ask them what theme or colours they will be having at their wedding. If they have not decided this then I ask what are you and your partner interested in or do you have personal style?"

When it comes to what type of invitation you are after, start researching the options available.

Emma said she had noticed a big trend in Letterpress printed invitations with a retro/ vintage inspired typographic design and also a big step towards what she calls as "Show-stoppers". "Gone are the days of the simple paper printed or handwritten invites. People are looking to impress with invites a bit out of the ordinary." Emma describes.

Emma is particularly excited about the unique invite options we have available here at PF.
With the huge on-going trend towards D.I.Y, vintage and rustic weddings our laser engraved wooden invites are like non other. We recently released an Acrylics range which are very unique and impressive.

Emma lists wedding invites top trends: (in no particular order)

  • Vintage theme
  • Chalkboard theme
  • Engraved
  • Organic elements
  • Letterpress printed
  • Florals
  • Nautical
  • Acrylic
  • Full colour printed Magnets

The most important thing to keep in mind is a budget. Whether it is small or large, you can always achieve something beautiful and memorable which will reflect you & your partner's love and happiness.
